Geamăna Sunken Village is one of Romania's most unusual and striking man-made landscapes, located in the Apuseni Mountains in Alba County. The former village of Geamăna was evacuated in the 1970s to make way for the Valea Șesii tailings pond associated with the Roșia Poieni mining operation. Today, most of the former settlement lies beneath the pond's water and mining waste, while the church tower remains visible above the surface and has become the symbol of the place.

Locul poate fi admirat de la punctele de belvedere din zona Valea Șesii, însă nu este recomandat accesul pe suprafața iazului sau apropierea de apa și materialul minier. Zona este spectaculoasă pentru fotografie, mai ales datorită contrastului dintre turnul bisericii și culorile neobișnuite ale lacului. Este recomandată prudență și respectarea indicatoarelor și a zonelor cu acces restricționat.
