Catherine's Gate is a historic monument built in 1559, the only medieval gate in Brașov preserved in its original form. The square tower with three levels is crowned by four turrets symbolizing the right of the city's rulers to apply capital punishment, and its vault is painted in Renaissance style. Entry is free, and temporary art and history exhibitions are regularly held inside.
