The Meledic Plateau is a natural reserve in Buzău County, renowned for its unique karst landscape developed on massive salt deposits. Located at an altitude of over 500 meters in the Subcarpathians, this protected area features a distinct environment of open meadows, deep ravines, and freshwater lakes sitting directly above salt beds.
Key attractions include Meledic Lake, a freshwater body supporting fish despite its saline substrate, and nearby salt caves. Visitors can also explore various wooden sculptures scattered across the plateau, crafted during past art symposiums.
