Székely National Museum

The Székely National Museum in Sfântu Gheorghe is one of the most important cultural institutions dedicated to Székely heritage and the history of Transylvania. Founded in the 19th century, the museum houses collections of archaeology, history, ethnography, art, and natural sciences. Its current building, designed by architect Károly Kós and inaugurated in 1912, is itself a remarkable example of Transylvanian architecture inspired by local traditions. The museum provides a broad insight into the culture and development of the communities of southeastern Transylvania.
