Beliș-Fântânele Lake is one of the most spectacular artificial lakes in the Apuseni Mountains, located in Cluj County at the meeting point of the Gilău, Vlădeasa, and Muntele Mare Mountains. Surrounded by dense conifer forests and breathtaking mountain scenery, the lake is a popular destination for boating, kayaking, fishing, camping, photography, and relaxation. During dry summers, when the water level drops, visitors can sometimes see the ruins of the former church of Giurcuța de Jos, a village submerged after the lake was created.
