The Endless Column is one of the most famous works by Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși and a masterpiece of modern sculpture. Erected in 1938 in Târgu Jiu, the work forms part of the Monumental Ensemble dedicated to Romanian soldiers who died during World War I, together with the Table of Silence and the Gate of the Kiss. The column consists of stacked geometric modules inspired by the rhomboid shape and symbolizes the aspiration toward infinity and spiritual elevation.
