The Cell of Saint Daniil the Hermit is a unique historical monument carved directly into a massive rock, located a short distance from Putna Monastery. This cave dwelling offers insight into medieval ascetic life in Moldavia, being the retreat of one of the most famous spiritual advisers to Prince Stephen the Great.
Hand-carved into hard sandstone, the cell consists of small spaces created for prayer and rest. The site maintains a solemn and peaceful atmosphere, attracting visitors interested in the spiritual traditions of the region.
