Cisnădioara Fortress, also known as the Saint Michael Fortified Church, is one of Romania's oldest and best-preserved Romanesque monuments. Built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries atop Saint Michael's Hill, the fortress is renowned for its authentic Romanesque architecture, defensive walls, and breathtaking panoramic views over the village of Cisnădioara and the Sibiu region. Owing to its outstanding historical and architectural significance, it is regarded as one of Transylvania's most important medieval landmarks.
