Bigăr Waterfall is one of the most famous natural landmarks in Romania, located in Caraș-Severin County right on the 45th Parallel. The waterfall is fed by the Bigăr spring, a powerful underground stream emerging from a cave in the Anina Mountains before flowing into the Miniș River.
The calcium-rich water deposits travertine over green moss, creating a distinct visual shape. Although a section of the limestone formation collapsed naturally in 2021, the site remains a popular stop for visitors traveling through the Cheile Nerei (Beușnița) National Park.
The visitor area includes an easily accessible viewpoint next to the main road, as well as a short foot trail leading up to the spring head and Bigăr Cave.
