Bâlea Waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Făgăraș Mountains and one of the best-known natural attractions along the Transfăgărășan. The water drops approximately 60 meters over the mountain rocks, creating a series of cascades and streams surrounded by dramatic alpine scenery. Fed by waters from the glacial area of the Făgăraș Mountains, the waterfall is located near Bâlea Lake in a spectacular natural setting.
