The Flooded Church of Geamăna is one of the best-known symbols of the former Geamăna village in the Apuseni Mountains, Alba County. The church was partially engulfed by the Valea Șesii tailings pond created as a result of mining operations at Roșia Poieni. As the level of the pond rose, most of the village disappeared beneath the water and mining waste, leaving the church tower visible above the surface. Its isolated silhouette, surrounded by the unusual colors of the tailings pond, has become a powerful symbol of the impact of mining on local communities and the landscape.

Biserica poate fi admirată de la distanță, din punctele de belvedere din zona Geamăna-Valea Șesii. Nu este recomandată apropierea de iazul de decantare sau coborârea pe suprafața acestuia, din cauza materialelor provenite din activitatea minieră. Zona este deosebit de fotogenică, iar turnul bisericii poate fi observat cel mai bine în condiții de vizibilitate bună. Pentru o experiență sigură, este important să fie respectate toate restricțiile și indicațiile locale.
