Zarnesti Gorges Trail, Piatra Craiului

The Zărnești Gorges are a spectacular canyon located in the southern part of the Piatra Craiului National Park. The trail starts at Botorog Fountain and follows a forest road laid out between vertical limestone walls over 100 m high. The walk takes roughly 2-3 hours round-trip and is suitable for all ages, being almost flat and easy to cover on foot or by bicycle. At the end of the gorge you reach Poiana Prăpăstiile meadow, and from here you can continue hikes to the villages of Măgura and Peștera or up to the ridges of the Piatra Craiului range.
